Fly los angeles to san diego

I'm a small person and even I couldn't get comfortable. The seats were curved in the wrong way and didn't recline enough for a 3 hour flight. The crew made the boarding and deplaning process worse by not paying attention to what was going on in the plane. Pros: "The crew was nice" Cons: "Leave the middle seats open".

Pros: "United Airlines is putting customers and employees at risk. It is an insane and absurd as it is disgraceful. During boarding you will see painted arrows on the ground urging you to be "6 feet apart" from fellow travellers. You will then enter a the plane and be 6 inches apart as the plane will be FULL. Fly Delta where they block off middle seats and social distance.

There's a pandemic. Cons: "A computer problem caused us to sit on the tarmac for 3 hours. Good times. Pros: "Efficient" Cons: "Better service, more food options". Pros: "The flight was great. No complains to the crew. First you have to print the tag and then go to another long line be with 2 employees only to drop it of instead of having one place to print and drop off at the same time. Poor system. Moreover while there was plenty of time my bag did not make it on the same flight.

It will arrive on the next flight hopefully. I had to wait in another line for 30 minutes to arrange the delivery and verify all my information. I truly believe that to make a trip great both arms - the airport and the flight experience should be perfect. Unfortunately the ground experience does not allow me to give a higher rating. Cons: "The time of the flight was super late.

I wish we could have left earlier. All other aspects were fine. Pros: "The crew was very friendly, the seats were uncomfortable and the air cabin was very cold. Communication regarding the flight changes were very confusing and had guest running though the airport not knowing what to do.

My suitcase was busted and destroyed. There were not enough blankets for everyone in the cold plane. Horrible experience. Pros: "On time departure and arrival" Cons: "Small plane".

Pros: "The Great plane. Great ride. They do not accommodate modern methods of making children comfortable in seats, such as the use of jetkids and jetbox accessories.

Cons: "One crew is rude while I was ordering food while she is delivering the beverage after the order time. She simply told me they don't have what I want to order and leave. After 5 mins, I pushed the service button and nobody responded. After half hour, I ordered the food from another crew passed by. After I landed, they suppose to return my stroller set at the airplane gate. But they said it is not there, ask us to wait at the airport gate.

We walked outside and they broadcasted again, I didn't hear very clearly but followed most parents to walk out. We wait at the baggage claim for almost 1 hour and finally, the baggage crew came back to the gate and found our stroller. Pros: "Nothing" Cons: "I had to print out my own labels for my bags.

No one told me this. Mind you, I was already in line! I had to go print label. Get in line again. Attendant said I need to put the label on myself. And for me to step aside. I was not gonna get out of line again. No one was there to let customers know of this labeling. People were confused! Then my luggage was over 50 pounds. Lax TSA Employees are rude and mean. Yelling do this and do that.

Like we prisoners. I will never fly United again. I will let everyone know of my experience. Terrible customer service. Then your screens don't work on your airplane. Cannot watch movies. Therefore your plane is not up to par. Never again. Good luck United. Pros: "Short flight" Cons: "Late departure due to late arrival of the plane from previous destination. Pushed our arrival time after midnight.

Rental car agency was closed and had to rent from a different one at a very steep premium. No apologies and no assistance. Pros: "We were forced to re-book this leg of our trip because of "insufficient" layover time. The United Airlines staff helping the numerous customers that were forced to re-book were not friendly, did not function with any sense of urgency and were as minimally helpful as possible with the inconvenience.

After exiting customs we had 30 minutes to get to our gate, instead of offering to take us to the front of the line to get through security faster we were simply told we would not get through it in enough time to make our flight. Initially we were not even told we were going to be re-booking our flight, we were only told that we needed to re-check our bags at the counter after exiting customs.

The entire interaction was very frustrating. Pros: "We had arrived a little ahead of schedule" Cons: "For an almost 6 hour flight, they chose a very small plane. Probably because they didn't sell enough seats on the flight so they downsized. Anyway, lots of people who boarded towards the end weren't able to store any carryon luggage.

And as I listened to the crew talk to them, they weren't very nice about it. Sounded as if they were saying it's the passengers fault. We are allowed 1 carryon and 1 personal bag. For any flight that is longer than 3 hours, I believe the airlines should at least allow passengers to have 1 free check in.

Then maybe we wouldn't be trying to carry everything on with us. Our flight to Hawaii wasn't very comfortable either. We had purchased economy plus but it didn't seem all that comfortable. Maybe because it was a smaller plane. I think it was a , not really sure but it had 3 seats on each side with no middle row.

Food is for purchase! Pros: "Staff was pleasant, decent movies overall. Both meals had mushrooms 3 out of 4 entrees and it wasn't always obvious which ones. Additionally, the second meal with seafood or pasta, the pasta obviously had mushrooms so I chose seafood, even though I don't like most seafood. Mushrooms all mixed in with the seafood, so I had to pick them all out.

Also 2 of the accompanying sides had mushrooms. Do they have a mushroom fetish like Cheesecake Factory? Need more consideration for people who may have varying food requirements that are unavailable to address during the booking process. I know you can't please everyone, but why overuse an ingredient that has a relatively low appeal to potential passengers? Will try again, just hope they can use similar customer service in their food preparation as they have otherwise.

Pros: "A 3-hour stop over for the connection was not enough!!! The flight to San Francisco was delayed another 90 mins, causing me to miss my hour flight to Singapore, although we arrived 10 minutes before the United Flight! Ten other passengers missed the flight! A travesty! Worse, with "no hotels available", I was rerouted to Chicago for a flight via Tokyo at the following day! In short, a hour trip became 48 hours of hell and of course an hour delaed arrival in Singapore.

But there was more: my luggage was "lost" and thus arrived two days late!!!!! I deserve some compensaton, wouldn't you all agree? I buy many tickets going from LA to Vegas. After no indication about any extra costs but only the inability to check in… At the airport I was warned by one of the agents when she told me that my basic economy ticket would not allow me to bring my computer back on the plane without being charged.

I've never experienced this in my life. United has just been axed off of my list of Airlines with which I will travel. Come to think of it the only other airline that I can choose not to travel on his Spirit so United has reached new lows! Cons: "Ever since gas prices went up to 5 a gallon years ago, the airlines started charging for food, checked bags etc etc.

Now that gas prices have come down, the airlines still charge for said items. Totally LAME". Pros: "Spacious seats, seatback screens, and some empty seats made this a most comfortable flight".

Pros: "Nothing" Cons: "Told the gate attendant I was flying home for my dad's funeral and if there was anything they could do to move my seat from a middle seat to aisle seat he said not without charging me but I could ask when I boarded the plane. Once the doors were closing I asked the flight attendant if I could move up one row to an open aisle seat she said no not without charging me.

I said there's no one in that whole row and I'm flying home for my dad's funeral and could they make an exception I would show them the obituary and funeral brochure if needed I just wanted some space. She got another gate attendant I explained the same thing and he said no. He said the seat will have to remain empty if I wasn't willing to pay for it.

I told him r u serious? U r that inconsiderate and heartless as a company. I've already booked 2 flights w United and u can't make an exception as I was in tears he said no nothing. And walked off the flight.

This airline is heartless and deserves all the bad publicity it's getting. Horrible horrible service. And the flight attendant Beth did nothing about it after he left. Pros: "Horrible service" Cons: "Very negative about this company they did two times cancelation, at first was problem with lights in plane and we stay over an hour, then they say that the airplain has mechanical problems and we waited about one more hour, then they returned us to airport and we waited one more hour, finally after 3 hours they start to board us but service was horrible so rod boarding people.

So I hade meeting with singing contract in the morning, I was late contract cancelled and I lose my money The company did not any compensation. I'm so Negative, negative, about this company, not recommended will never have again".

Cons: "Staff was rude and not helpful at all. Delayed over 3 hours waiting on crew coming in on another plane. Short staffed. Cons: "Roundtrip flight to Seattle with a layover, first flight went without incident, so far so good. We are canceled and now have to wait 4 additional hours in the airport.

Was told it was air traffic control that messed up, not United, which was not even possible and an obvious untruth. Was offered a complimentary bottle of water for the trouble. Classic united. Cons: "I had a seat that had a monitor that was steaming code in front of me for 6 hours.

It couldn't even be turned off. The only thing the crew offered was a piece of cardboard to cover it up. I would much rather give praises than complaints. Pay extra for food, entertainment, emergency isle seats Crew even gave me grief about hanging up my suit!?! Also had to go home without any of my luggage Pros: "Love the stroop waffles. There my bags were scanned and all the guy said to me was "ooh that's too close" and walked away. I then stood in a line that did not move for over ten minutes, with only three people in front of me, while desks were empty and doing nothing but talking amongst each other.

I then called the guy that scanned my bags back over to ask why I was still standing there while my next flight was about to board and he told me I'd been rebooked!! I didn't want to wait for the next flight so then had to sprint, with my bags, from terminal 2 to 7 which if you've ever walked through LAX you'd understand how unpleasant that was alone. I did make the flight, but just, thanks only to the girls at the checkout counter who were actually willing to help me, although not eager to.

Pros: "Gate and customer service agents were kind. The airline could have let me make my connection, since other guests, who had no connections to make and were also stand by. In addition, customer service refused to offer a hotel voucher, instead offering a third-party 'wholesale price' coupon to participating hotels.

The discounted price is more than the flight! Perhaps United could acknowledge the priority conflict of causing overnight delays and offer a flight voucher Pros: "The crew on board the flights were always friendly and Stern with unruly customers. Very good job in that department. I can't imagine what a person any taller or larger then me felt. Oh also the average size man sitting extra to me was spilling over my seat.

Luckily he did not smell and was very apologetic. The only reason I booked through united was because of how cheap they were. But with Lon delays. Rude check in emoployees, bad snacks, zero in flight entertainment 7. Come on you have us trapped already. Yeah I'll gladly go back to delta.

Pros: "Nice short trip with no complications. Pros: "We appreciated the free wifi and programs on the Wichita to Denver flight. After landing in Denver, my husband's back was hurting and they upgraded our seats for free. Pros: "Land crew quickly attended to my need since I missed my connecting flt due to departure and US Customs delays. Next available flt would be 7hrs wait so I just took off and had someone to pick me up from LAX.

The two hour delay caused almost half the plane to miss their connecting flights, myself included, and now my carry-on bag with my phone charger, clothes, toothbrush, Cologne, and basically everything I needed, was on its way to my final destination while I was not.

Pros: "The flight landed safely and was only a few minutes late after delayed departure of 25 minutes. He continually left his seat when the seat belt sign was on. I figured he was back smoking or vaping in the lavatory as he came back smelling strongly of after shave, bit seeing him weave around he must've been drinking. Then he stood in the aisle and poured more after shave down his shirt and outside his shirt.

The smell was so strong it gave me a headache and make me sick to my stomach. Then he left his seat and sat behind us somewhere with a woman. A flight attendant told another man to come up and sit where he had been sitting. After the man went to sleep this guy came up and kicked him out of his seat. Then he asked the guy by the windows to switch seats with him which the guy did Kama then he proceeded to make him move several times as he had to get out and get out of his seat looking for something.

I'm not sure how these things are handled normally but this guy really ruined for me. Aren't there consequences for ignoring all the rules?

I probably won't fly United again. Pros: "I liked that I finally arrived at my destination and that the crew did their best to accommodate the passengers. We were told three different times we would be boarding, but only to be told we were experiencing a delay again. The front WC was out of service and created a long line for the only other WC on the plane, which you sometimes you would stand in when turbulence would hit.

This was honestly one of the most uncomfortable commercial flights I have taken since I had to call out of work due to the stress the flight put on some of my joint injuries. Pros: "Boarding staff and Crew were friendly" Cons: "Not having to be delayed for 7 hours".

Pros: "The pilots were informative and polite. Added fees for carry on is ridiculous. I flew Delta on outbound and read that my carry on would not be charged on my return flight with Spirit. The crew were not polite.

The plane was totally loaded 40 mins before the take off time, making it difficult to get pre purchased food. Pros: "I liked that I made it to and from orer destination alive. Tray table was roughly the size of my phone, wouldn't be able to pull a laptop out to get work done even if I wanted to. Red eye flight and lights were not dimmed, air flow was turned way down almost to the point of non existent so it was stifling hot. No help was given to the mother of the crying toddler who screamed the entire 3 hour and 20 minute flight at least offer a free cookie or something to help sooth popping ears or anxiety for Christ's sake!

Pros: "Not one thing. Besides they got they destination right. Everyone involved in this spirit airlines besides the pilots was in a bad mood.. I really liked how they waited till literally the last min an said your bag that you have used on your 8, previous flights to date. Bought ticket day in advance with insurance for this reason. When all they had to do was print the item ready. I had meetings scheduled days in advance I missed that were worth 50x this entire ticket.

From the experience an the staff all the way around I was embarrassed to say I used this airline. Pros: "Zero" Cons: "Customer service is the worst. Worst airline out there, do not use them. Perfect setup for the revenue they need. Pros: "Smooth flight after min delay on tarmac at LAX not the airline's fault. Captain did very well to make up the time and got us to gate on schedule.

Only one working restroom went far better than expected and whole flight crew seemed very attentive. No entertainment to speak of, but we had audiobooks on our phones. Still, don't ever book a Spirit flight thinking you're done paying once you've purchased the ticket--that charge is only the beginning. Bags, seats, boarding time, food--it's all extra. Pros: "Absolutely nothing! That's ridiculous! It's a carry on! And it fit right in the overhead!

Also it was not a full flight! Seats were not at all comfortable and the drinks weren't complementary! For all that I could have done delta and I thought they were bad! This has been the worst flight I have ever taken!

Please fix your greedy ways spirt". Pros: "Like the a la cart options pertaining to seat selection, security fast pass and cleanliness of the plane. The small panel that is referred to as a tray table is more like the size of an ashtray so forget about using your laptop in flight. They have not updated their policy as other larger airlines regarding mobile phones must be in airplane mode. The flights are commonly delayed no weather issues.

And the baggage policy is a bit confusing as they consider my backpack and satchel as two carry on bags and asked me to combine them prior to boarding. Cons: "I payed extra for a big seat up front by the window and when I boarded the plane A young woman was sitting in my seat with 2 german shephards by her seat asking if I wouldn't mind switching to the ailse seat to allow her dogs more room.

Being polite I went along with it but was annoyed the whole flight. Noone on the crew seemed to think this was out of the ordinary however. Will be avoiding spirit from now on. Pros: "The boarding went smoothly but we also got to the gate on time. The legroom seem to be bigger than other planes. People are standing up to go to the lavatory. One person went twice! One It took an hour to turn off the seatbelt sign.

The plane is new but it stinks. No form of entertainment at all. Pros: "This was my first time flying Spirit Airlines and there was nothing that stood out to me as being exceptional.

I paid extra for "security shortcut" which did not exist in the LAX airport. I showed my ticket to 3 different TSA agents who waved me on thru the same line as everyone else. I could have flown a major airline for the same overall cost. To make matters worse, I was seated next to a large woman who took up almost a third of my seat who was coughing the whole flight.

She kept waving down the flight attendants for cups of ice and they seemed to ignore her more often than not.

Ice is the only thing that's free. On the flight they bribe you with free miles to fill out a credit card application. I don't want to fly spirit again even if it's free, sorry! Pros: "Flight attendants were great! I was not the only one either, just in the time in line waiting to check in, I was multiple people be caught off guard by the fees and seem frustrated. Seats do not lean back, interior of plane, very bare minimum. But it is an economy flight. This would be an airline to take if you just have a small backpack and no luggage whatsoever.

Otherwise with luggage it is a much better deal and more comfortable to fly other airlines. Won't fly Spirit again. Cons: "I thought I was getting a cheap flight. By the time I added in the cost of checking a bag even pre-check in , I was pretty much in the same ballpark as other flights.

If I wanted to select my seat, that would have made it even more. The seats were hard and did not recline at all and I was on a 4. There wasn't any food available to purchase. On top of everything, I had to change my flight, which I did on Spirit.

I purchased my bag check at the same time. When I got to the counter, my bags were paid, but my flight was not changed. I had to pay to change it at the counter fortunately, there was room on the flight.

They would not take any responsibility, just kept telling me it was my fault since I booked my flight incorrectly in the first place. Terrible airline, will not use again.

Pros: "The flights themselves were pretty easy and on time. We did tons of research to figure out the most efficient way to travel with our little guy and decided to bring his car seat on the plane since he travels so well in it. As long as there's a tag or some sort of label on the car seat stating that it is approved for air travel you can use it in a regular plane seat.

The first boarding agent was completely unaware of this rule and acted like he was gonna make us check it at the gate. My husband insisted that he would not do that and that it was allowed, so the guy said "well you can try, but it's probably gonna get checked". Once we were on the plane, no one said another word.

Feeling like pros by the time we were boarding our return flight home, we installed the car seat in the middle so we could sit on either side as we had on the way to our vacation. This time the flight attendants informed us that we had to install the car seat in the window as it could block the person sitting in the window seat from an easier escape in an emergency. Again, my husband explained that the person in the window seat would be me and that we had installed it in the middle on the way to our vacation, so she said "oh, okay then".

Minutes later a second flight attendant came through telling us the same rule but enforced it. While I can appreciate their reason for the rule and the fact that they eventually enforced it, I was baffled at how many employees did not even know their own rules about car seat travel! Cons: "They nickel and dime you for everything. It was unbelievable. Oh, and the seats don't recline at all.

Cons: "The flight from LAX was delayed twice and took off more than three hours later. The flight back from Philadelphia to LAX was canceled about two hours before the flight was to take off. Very bad life flight experience. Cons: "A friend and I were unable to check in online. Due to LA traffic we arrived 40 minutes before departure and the very rude desk jockey refused to even consider allowing us through.

Hard and fast rule: No check ins within 45 min of departure. No seats were offered on a later flight either. The desk clerk was smug and indignant and his rudeness caused my friend with a recent traumatic brain injury great duress. We were extremely dismayed with Spirit Airlines and will never fly with them again.

We want a refund!!! Pros: "Nicole at Spirit corp who reversed the charge. I got that reveresed by corporate but the ticket counter people were AWFUL and uncaring and not just to me. Everyone in line was saying they would never use Spirit again. One woman was charged eight dollars to get a seat next to her toddler! Awful gouging airline. It costs one hundred dollars if you don't know and bring a suitcase to the plane without paying days before!

Pros: "The attendants were nice. The pilot was kinda funny. Most seats do not recline. No onboard internet. I'm sure these are all things I could have found out with a little digging but I was buying a ticket in a hurry at the last minute.

Not blaming anyone but myself but Spirit is not the airline for me. I got the feeling they promote themselves as a budget airliner but when you add of the costs of a carry on a account for the missing comforts I felt like there wasn't much savings in terms of experience. This is not for airline snobs Pros: "Cheap ticket purchase price" Cons: "I was charged for carrying on my roll on bag because of its shape.

While my brother on the same flight carried on an even larger backpack. But, it was considered a personal item. Also because we did not wish to pay even more to pick our seats, we were assigned the last row on the plane where the fuselage begins to taper towards the tail of a plane. Therefore it there was not nearly enough shoulder room for my brother and me. Overall the discomfort, lackadaisical staff, and shrewd penny-pinching policies insured that I will never fly Spirit Airlines again.

Pros: "Not very much, the crew was pleasant and that was the only decent thing about the flight. Only being able to check one bag is the silliest and most inconvenient rule since I was gone for 10 days and needed to bags for all my things. The charge for an extra bag was practically what it cost to buy a plane ticket. The seats on the plane were the most uncomfortable plane seats I've ever been on especially for a 4 hour flight.

Finally, there was no in flight entertainment for a 4 hour flight offered. There wasn't even an option for in-flight wifi for purchase. It was the worst flight I have ever had.

It's and Spirit's lack of amenities that every other airline offers is a sorry excuse for providing slightly cheaper airfare than most airlines. I never desire to fly with Spirit again. Pros: "Spirit Airlines gouged us on our baggage in multiple ways. And we packed reasonably, only checking three bags each way, plus the forced checking of the fourth bag on the way back. Pros: "We showed up to the airport for a flight from Oakland to LA and the agent notified us that our flight was cancelled.

This was on December 23rd, and they told us they could put us on another flight on December 25th! We were returning on the 26th so that was entirely unhelpful. They said the reason for the cancellation was weather in LA. But none of the other airlines were having any issues with their flights. We were flying at 9am and there was rain in LA at about 7pm. They offered to refund us, which we accepted. I was expecting to have to harangue them to actually get our money back, but the refund came through unprompted about a week later.

Pros: "Nothing" Cons: "Spirit manipulates their prices and the way the system works to look like they are cheap flights but get you in other places in order to make way more money off you. I almost had to play dollars because of bag issues that weren't my fault. Luckily my family was flying southwest and they were able to take my bag with them. I should have stayed with dependable southwest airlines.

Another guy next to me payed dollars for a carry on bag. And customer service is really bad specially in Portland airport pdx. Will never fly spirit airlines again and will recommend friends and family not fly with them either.

Pros: "Absolutely nothing" Cons: "From the minute after booking my flight there were problems. The confirmation page with my flight details had the wrong flight. I had to talk to someone who I could hardly understand for over an hour to correct this issue.

When I arrived for my flight it had been delayed 3 hours, then delayed 4 hours, then cancelled. Had to go back to the ticket desk where other unhappy travelers had to wait for 3 ticket desk agents that were offering to reschedule my flight for the same time the following day.

My confidence this airline would actually follow through with my new travel arrangements were absolutely zero. I requested a full refund and was unable to fulfill my travel plans. I would never book a flight on spirit airlines again and would go out of my way to prevent anyone I know from making the same mistake.

Such a horrible excuse for an airline!! Pros: "Despite my gripes, the staff was professional and polite. Concerning luggage fees, the staff at every counter had a different opinion on what could be considered a personal items. Rules seemed to be arbitrary. For example, a backpack was ok, but wheels on a backpack might change it's "category. This is in addition to the fact that some Spirit employees told customers "any backpack is okay because it's a backpack.

I have never had problems with it's dimensions. I mean, it skimmed the top. Really, it was the handle that peaked out. I should have taken a picture.

People did not understand if both were needed. The confusion resulted in people asking other people to watch their luggage while they went over to the kiosk! In a post world, this is not only poor airport etiquette, but downright dangerous. There should be signs stating: "If you need to check-in luggage, print and get in line, unsure if you need to pay, get in line, or if you have one personal item showing measurements , print your boarding pass and continue to security.

I booked on Kayak and didn't see any notification that your additional fees were so much higher than the industry standard. It appears that your business model is to attract clients with low prices, then hit them with hefty additional charges at th airport, when it would be difficult for them to change plans. It worked this time, but I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. I suggest that you reconsider the way you treat your clients.

Pros: "I went to the wrong terminal and ended up missing my flight. The people at the check-in counter said my seat had been given away, they could not reroute me with their computer system, and I had to call Reservations. I did so, was put on hold for several long stretches, and ultimately told that not only could I not get on another outbound flight without purchasing a brand-new ticket, but my return flight was now nullified and I would have buy that again too.

Despite how distraught I obviously was, Spirit was unwilling to do anything to assuage the situation. I wasted an hour on the phone in the airport and ended up having to drive to LA through traffic on my birthday.

A terrible experience. Will fly Southwest. And then we have to pay for our seats and drinks and everything. I know this is supposed to be low cost but I could have gotten a first class ticket at another airline and much better food and service than this. At the boarding terminal, the lady told me, after I waited in line all afternoon, that I had to go back and get my printed boarding pass from the kiosk.

What airline can't print the pass at the desk! When I told her I needed to check my carry on when I purchased a carry on price, she got lazy and wouldn't check it so she printed out my boarding the pass there. I will never fly this airline again unless they paid me to! Pros: "The main flight attendant who did the announcements was a hilarious, irreverent funny guy who actually made me pay attention to all of his announcements for the first time in years.

Made the trip a true delight. Best thing about Spirit airlines is this one guy. The seats were comfortable and pretty spacious for airlines today. And every time you have to pay for another dang thing, you feel like you are being scammed just a little bit more. I try so hard to avoid Spirit airlines but sometimes it's the only way to get where I need to go.

Pros: "Seats were fine, and the cabin felt nice and cool. The attendants were nice as the interacted with fellow passengers. The flight felt smooth, and they got us to our destination safely. Although the attendants were curtious to those in need, they lacked in competence.

Many passengers either a could not follow instructions as request, or b control their children. The attendants just seemed to let it slide, an not show any enforcement. In lieu of the minute announcement touching on passenger safety, and respect towards fellow customers, a little more effort from the employees would have gone a long way on his flight. Finally, once we arrived, our gate was occupied.

Then, the jetwave operated did not show up for some time. Therefore, we did not disembark the plane until an hour after landing. Economy Business Premium Economy First.
